Six of Spades

The Six of Spades is called the card of Fate because it is the most powerful symbol of the law of cause and effect. What we sow, that we shall reap, both good and evil. If our Birth Card is a Six, then at any moment of life we may expect "fateful" events. These events are predetermined by our words or deeds committed in a past life, the consequence of which was not experienced at once but postponed until suitable conditions arose for compensating these actions. The Six of Spades constantly thinks about love and romantic infatuations. At the same time they strive to approach the situation from the intellectual side. So they are forced to accumulate experience for a long time (both positive and negative) until they acquire enough of it to back up their theoretical ideas and abundance of notions. Sometimes Sixes of Spades start many love affairs, which usually has bad consequences for them. Such a passion for numerous romances is usually rooted in their secret fear of not getting enough love. This fear, symbolised by the Three of Hearts as the Saturn Card, can cause great difficulties in the area of sincere intimate relationships — until the Six of Spades realises it and conquers it. Predestination versus free will

According to many newspaper materials and interviews published in the 1890s, Olney Richmond claimed that life is completely predetermined by fate. There is evidence of his unerring predictions to various people; for this he needed to know only the time and date of birth. Olney Richmond again and again insisted that everything in our world operates according to definite and unchanging mathematical principles and laws, without which not even a hair would fall from one's head. These convictions are shared by Indian astrologers. Those who have mastered their astrological system can, on the basis of the time, date and place of your birth alone, tell you when you will marry, how many children you will have, what kind of work you will do and when you will die. Most of us find it hard to agree with such notions. We want to believe that we have a certain choice in life. But let us look at the facts. But still, how could Olney Richmond and other astrologers make such precise predictions? For this they did not even need to meet people or know them personally. Hindu brahmins and sages, fatalistic as it may be, still say that in order to fulfil our destiny we need to follow our Dharma. A brief definition of "dharma" is "right action". The Hindus say that we must try to "act rightly" regardless of the fact that the circumstances of our life are already predetermined and events have taken an unchangeable turn. And how much we believe in the predetermination of fate is shown by our Birth Card. Cards with odd numbers (such as Aces or Threes) always give a person creative possibilities. For this reason people with such Birth Cards are always inclined to believe that they themselves are the creators of their destiny. Cards with even numbers (especially Sixes) tend not to interfere with the course of life. Sixes are very constant people, and they resist any changes at all. You will discover this if you spend some time with any of them. They can get stuck in one rut for a long time, and it will seem that nothing can move them from the spot any more. Perhaps this is why the life of Sixes seems more fatal than the destinies of other cards. It seems that they cannot achieve anything in their life, since they undertake nothing. But everything comes to them by itself while they simply sit and stare into emptiness. Sixes of Spades, being the strongest of all the Sixes, most often act in exactly this way and understand fate and predestination in exactly this way. Florence Campbell in her book "Sacred Symbols of the Ancients" suggests that people born under the influence of a Six have the ability, with the help of the gift of intuition, to intervene in the real course of fate. And although at times their life may seem calm and monotonous, in the serenity of this calm Sixes can tune in to their inner voice, which is heard only when our mind falls silent at least for a while. Perhaps this is why Sixes are initiated into knowledge that other cards rarely possess. Part of this knowledge is information about their own destiny and their role in helping the world. If Sixes of Spades listen to their inner voice, they will learn that fate has assigned them a special mission and that they can bring great benefit to humanity.
