Despite a certain immaturity and frivolity inherent in them as Jacks, they are nevertheless guided by the spirit of wisdom and higher motives. But they need to watch carefully that the sacrifices they make are not useless. The JACK OF HEARTS is in danger of sinking too deeply into themselves and losing touch with reality, but this is the exception rather than the rule. The strength of Jacks of Hearts is in the power of love. They have come into our world to love other people and set them an example with their love. As soon as the JACK OF HEARTS realises that this is exactly what their mission consists of, they will readily accept the responsibility connected with it and cope with it superbly. Jacks of Hearts often make sacrifices and may give up personal wishes for the sake of a high goal or spiritual philosophy. For Jack of Hearts women a marriage union with Diamond men is not the most successful choice; but with men of their own suit they get on magnificently. The Jack of Hearts — saviour or martyr?

The Jack of Hearts is associated with Jesus Christ — the saviour and spiritual leader of the age of Pisces, which is drawing to its close. By his own example he taught people a love far surpassing ordinary human experience. This sacrificial love is considered the highest form of love. It is symbolised by Venus in Pisces — a sign under the rule of Neptune. The influence of Neptune can show itself both favourably and destructively, depending on the person. In our time, at the threshold of the era of Aquarius, such sacrificial love begins to be perceived as something like a bad habit, as excessive codependency between partners. Before us are examples of countless people and organisations that abused their spiritual power in the name of the "good of humanity". Many JACKS OF HEARTS may reach complete moral and physical exhaustion, having got too carried away with self-giving. Receiving nothing in return, they finally begin to feel empty, and as a result they simply lose any possibility of making sacrifices for other people — that is, of doing their favourite thing. Much of what the age of Pisces taught us becomes useless and unnecessary in the era of Aquarius. From the "Aquarian" point of view, Jesus brought no one good by sacrificing himself. On the contrary, he lost the possibility of being beside people and helping them. From such a position one can say that his act was not a wonderful gift to humanity but an escape from reality. Of course, this point of view is hardly fair, but it shows excellently how the energies of Neptune and the sign of Pisces can be abused. The Bible claims that one can be saved only by faith in Jesus Christ. And the philosophy of the era of Aquarius advises giving up blind faith and facing the facts. We must stop trying to save humanity, ourselves included. No one needs a saviour, because everyone is already saved. Every person is unique and inimitable, everyone has enough strength to live as they like. Perhaps for this very reason many JACKS OF HEARTS seem old-fashioned nowadays. Many of them still try to save everyone around them — and unsuccessfully. Often it takes the Jack of Hearts long years of intense conflicts and sorting out relationships with partners to understand the value of a certain share of selfishness and set reasonable limits to their love. It is very hard for Jacks of Hearts to understand in which cases one should really make sacrifices, and when it is simply necessary to say "no". This is not the only card in the deck subject to such problems. Each of us, one way or another, experiences the influence of the planet Neptune, and some to a greater degree than others. There is a precarious balance between self-giving and the satisfaction of personal desires. We are all learning to clarify for ourselves the illusory nature of some of our actions and discover the truth. In the process we regain our natural strength and in a new way find a connection with the divinity within us — a way that suits the coming era of Aquarius, the era of Enlightenment, better than the old ones.
