One can notice that people with this Birth Card have varied characters. Some of them are afraid of almost everything — especially loneliness — and do everything possible to surround themselves with people who love them or with whom they can talk. They are sociable and take pleasure in fascinating conversations. But there are other Twos of Clubs too — living in seclusion and, it would seem, needing no one. But in fact they fear loneliness just as much, and beside them there is always some person to whom they are very attached. The behaviour of Twos of Clubs is largely explained by their Karma Card — the Ace of Spades, meaning a hidden fear of death or change. Nevertheless these people are endowed with many natural abilities and talents. They are indispensable in business and for people who prefer partnership at work. Two of Clubs women get on well with men of the Club and Diamond suits. If they are more attracted by the position of a housewife raising children, then perhaps Club men will suit them better as husbands, especially the King of Clubs. With men of the Diamond suit Two of Clubs women have stormy love affairs that bring them much pleasure but are not always lasting. Two of Clubs men should take care of women of the Heart suit, relationships with whom do not develop very easily for them but bring much benefit.

The timid Twos of Clubs

Florence Campbell in her book "Sacred Symbols of the Ancients" treats Twos of Clubs very harshly. In her opinion, this is one of the most cowardly and psychologically unstable cards in the deck. From my experience I admit that this is completely fair with regard to many people with such a Birth Card. The culprit is the Ace of Spades, their first Karma Card. Being the great symbol of death, it can arouse in the Two of Clubs a feeling of apprehension and fear in the most varied life situations. The Two of Clubs, of course, is not alone in this respect, but it is precisely in its life that this theme arises most often. Many Twos of Clubs suffer from imaginary, or psychosomatic, illnesses; they may turn into hypochondriacs and spend much energy worrying about their health. Other Twos of Clubs develop specific phobias — for example, fear of heights or of enclosed spaces. Not all Twos of Clubs admit to such fears, but quite a few do. The Ace of Spades as their Karma Card symbolises the area of the unknown lying beyond the rational mind. And in the case of the Two of Clubs this unknown can give rise to the most nightmarish fears. For example, a friend of mine is a Two of Clubs. When his first wife left him, he fell into such horror that he curled up in bed and lay like that for six weeks! And yet he is quite a sociable person who has achieved certain successes in life. He has many friends, and his life is arranged so that he is never alone with himself. Here again the fact is confirmed that the Two of Clubs will prefer the company of any person to solitude. This observation is true of all Twos, but of the Two of Clubs in particular. If we make decisions in a state of fear, then as a result, as a rule, we get even more tangled in our problems. Fearing something, we lose touch with our natural intuition. We are ready to grasp at any straw, at anything that comes to hand, just to get out of the unpleasant situation quickly. And very often the choice we make in such a state proves wrong in the future. Fear to a certain degree is inherent in every person. It is a natural part of our nature, sometimes even useful in that it does not let us perform acts that would harm us or other people. But going beyond acceptable limits, fear leads to undesirable consequences, which is what happens to some Twos of Clubs. They make decisions on the basis of fear — and thereby complicate their life extremely. The way to overcome this negative property for the Two of Clubs is to face their deepest fears. "We have nothing to fear but fear itself," said Winston Churchill. This thought is quite applicable to the situation of the Two of Clubs. The main thing people with this Birth Card need to do is admit their fear to themselves, shed light on the secret corners of their subconscious and turn to face the monsters living there. If this succeeds, the Two of Clubs will find a new source of strength — the mystical energy embodied by the Ace of Spades, the ancient symbol of secret knowledge and the Order of the Magi.
